Sophie Chen

Sophie Chen has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Sophie is currently the Head of Legal and Compliance at Overland Pharmaceuticals, where they started working in September 2022. Before that, they worked as the US Legal Lead at Overland Pharmaceuticals from August 2021 to September 2022. Prior to their role at Overland Pharmaceuticals, Sophie worked at Gilead Sciences as a Senior Corporate Counsel from March 2021 to August 2021, and as a Corporate Counsel from July 2019 to February 2021.

Before joining Gilead Sciences, Sophie worked as an Associate Attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP from January 2015 to July 2019. Prior to that, they served as an Assistant Vice President at Fidelity National Financial from March 2013 to January 2015. Sophie also gained valuable experience as a Judicial Intern to Honorable Roger T. Benitez at the U.S. District Court from September 2012 to January 2013. Additionally, they worked as a Certified Student Legal Intern at the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic from August 2011 to December 2011.

Earlier in their career, Sophie held summer internships at Morrison & Foerster LLP in 2011 and at Fox Rothschild LLP in 2010, further enhancing their legal knowledge and skills.

Sophie Chen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Economics from Peking University. Sophie then attended Notre Dame Law School, where they earned a Juris Doctor degree with magna cum laude honors. Later, they pursued a Certificate in Drug Discovery and Development at UC San Diego Extended Studies. Sophie also holds a certification as a Registered Patent Practitioner from the USPTO.
