Tonnis J. Poppema is an experienced legal and compliance professional with a robust background in strategic investments, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Currently serving as Managing Director and Board Member at GC since July 2022, Tonnis oversees strategic investments and functions as the sole shareholder of Allnex. Prior roles include Head of Legal and Compliance at PTTGC International, Global Head of Compliance at Nyrstar, and various interim compliance officer positions at organizations such as Essent and Groupe Casino. Tonnis has also held significant compliance leadership roles at Eastman Chemical Company and Hasbro, displaying expertise in legal, risk, ESG, and compliance across multiple industries. Academic credentials include an LL.M in European Legal Studies from the College of Europe and an MD/JD in European and International Law from the University of Groningen.
