Afia Asantewaa Asare-Kyei

Afia Asantewaa Asare-Kyei, human rights lawyer and development professional with extensive experience in strategy enhancement, program design, grant management, research engagement and stakeholder engagement in South, West and Central Africa. As a citizen of Ghana and South Africa, he has a diverse background in supporting and developing evolving social programs and advocacy strategies through the provision of technical advice and policy and program suggestions of civil society organizations in the issues such as access to information, freedom of expression, human rights and substantive justice, especially in relation to their inclusion, equality of opportunity and empowerment of vulnerable and underrepresented groups such as women, children, people with disabilities and LGBTIQs. Asare-Kyei has worked with numerous international development and philanthropic organizations in various capacities in Africa. He cares about Africa, its development and has a working knowledge of Africa’s regional mechanisms and institutions. He graduated from the Center for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Her research interests include women, children and the rights of the disabled, critical racial feminism and the social and economic rights of the poor. Asare-Kyei has worked with numerous international development and philanthropic organizations in various capacities in Africa.
