Katherine Chen

Katherine Chen, has a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Professor of Communication at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taiwan. He was previously commissioner of the National Communications Commission of Taiwan, and served as Associate Dean of the College of Communication and Vice Chair of the Chinese Communication Society. He also served on the Review Committee at the Ministry of Science and Technology, of Taiwan, advised the Ministry of Science and Technology, and served as external reviewer for the Research Grants Council in Hong Kong. Chen is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Asian Journal of Communication, and of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Communication Research and Practices. Professor Chen has received numerous research awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Chenghci University. His academic research has been published in journals such as Telecommunications Policy, Comunicar, Journalism Studies, New Media & Society, Public Relations Review, and the Chinese Journal of Communication. Her research interests include media content and its effects, social media in elections, as well as mobile communication and privacy.
