Lionel Matthys has extensive work experience in the fields of product development and management, with a focus on medical devices and microfluidics.

Lionel currently serves as a Chief Product Officer at Overture Life, where they partner with the CEO and executive team to set the product vision and roadmap. Lionel also organizes and coordinates product development activities, including engineering, product design, and scientific research.

Prior to this, Lionel held the position of VP of Technology at Overture Life, where they built and managed a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing medical devices for IVF lab automation. Lionel collaborated with the embryology team to develop and optimize microfluidic protocols.

Before joining Overture Life, Lionel worked at Fluigent, where they held various roles. As the Chief Technology Officer, they created and implemented a plan for product development and fostered technical collaboration with external R&D partners. As a Product Manager, they conducted market research, defined product requirements, and facilitated teamwork between sales and R&D. Lionel also served as a Technical Sales Manager, managing sales activities for multiple countries and conducting live demos in microfluidics labs worldwide. Additionally, they began their career at Fluigent as an Intern.

Lionel also gained experience at IKERLAN as an R&D Engineer, where they developed a lab-on-a-chip system for MRSA detection. Their work included designing and optimizing protocols for sample preparation, DNA purification, and qPCR. Lionel also designed an on-chip bead-beating lysis system.

Furthermore, Lionel completed internships at Fluigent, where they gained exposure to the company's operations and products, and at Laboratoire d'oncogénétique Centre René Huguenin, where they gained experience in oncogenetics research.

Lionel Matthys began their education at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences. Following this, from 2008 to 2011, Matthys pursued further education at SupBiotech, école de biotechnologies, obtaining a Master's degree in Biotechnology.
