District PBIS Coordinator And Coach at Ovid-Elsie Area Schools

Amber Foster, MBA, currently serves as the District PBIS Coordinator and Coach for Ovid-Elsie Area Schools since January 2022. Prior experience includes the role of STAR Intervention Specialist at Lansing School District from October 2017 to December 2021, where Amber focused on CRPBIS and MTSS implementation for primary schools. Earlier positions involve serving as a Juvenile Court Officer at the 30th Circuit Court, a Juvenile Probation Officer at Saginaw County Juvenile Center, and a Direct Care Worker at Sequel Youth and Family Services. Amber's career began as a Police Cadet with the Michigan State University Police Department. Education credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice/Psychology from Michigan State University, a Master of Business Administration from Northwood University, and ongoing studies for a Master of Social Work at Western New Mexico University.

Ovid-Elsie Area Schools is fully accredited by NCA/AdvancEd which provides a rigorous standard of excellence that is verified by on-site visitations and intense yearly reporting procedures. During the past school year, Ovid-Elsie Area Schools had the highest MEAP scores of any of the school districts in the Owosso Argus-Press coverage area. Leonard Elementary has been commended three times in the past two school years by the Michigan Department of Education as a “Beating the Odds!” School of Excellence. In 2011, Leonard Elementary was one of only 20 schools in the entire state to receive this recognition! In 2012, Ovid-Elsie High School was recognized as a "Reward School" by the Michigan Department of Education for our increase in student achievement. Ovid-Elsie Area Schools provides a high quality education based on our mission and strategic plan goals of unprecedented personal growth for every student, and it allows opportunities for them to grow outside the classroom through a large variety of extracurricular activities.
