Kai Lu

Kai Lu is a CMC Consultant at Ovid Therapeutics since October 2023, focusing on the review of CDMO process chemistry and the preparation of IND and IMPD filings to ensure timely drug substance supply for both non-clinical and clinical studies. Previously, Kai served as Principal Chemist at 20BLOC, where the role involved designing and scaling up key chemicals. As Associate Director of Chemistry at Gossamer Bio, leadership was provided to both internal and external teams to meet R&D program milestones. In prior positions, Kai held significant roles such as Principal Scientist at Provivi, Inc., Executive Director of Chemistry at Shanghai Medicilon Inc., and Director of Chemistry at ChemPartner, all emphasizing the synthesis and analysis of small organic molecules and APIs. Kai's foundational experience includes a Sr. Chemist position at Lundbeck, where expertise in multi-step synthesis and analytical techniques was developed. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Clemson University and a BS from Nanjing University.
