Katrien Schryvers

Katrien Schryvers has an extensive background in political and social service roles, currently serving as a Vlaams parlementslid at the Vlaams Parlement since June 2009, where responsibilities include holding positions such as tweede ondervoorzitter of the Commissie voor Welzijn, Volksgezondheid, Gezin en Armoedebestrijding and various roles in education and housing committees. In addition, Katrien Schryvers has been active in local governance as the voorzitter of the bijzonder comité sociale dienst and schepen at gemeente & ocmw Zoersel since January 1995, overseeing areas like social affairs and public participation. Previous experience includes serving as a volksvertegenwoordiger in the Kamer van volksvertegenwoordigers from January 2005 to December 2008 and a secretaris and member of the provincieraad in Provincie Antwerpen from 1994 to 2005. Katrien Schryvers holds a Licentiaat in Rechten from KU Leuven.
