The Owatonna Public School District is made up of eight preK-12 neighborhood schools, over 900 staff and just over 5,000 outstanding students.  It doesn’t take one long to feel the rich history and pride that surrounds the community of Owatonna. “I have always believed that strong schools build strong communities,” stated Superintendent Jeff Elstad.  Owatonna Public Schools belong to the community. You don’t need to be a student to take advantage of what our schools have to offer. The Education Team at Owatonna Public Schools comprises a diverse group of educators dedicated to fostering a supportive and effective learning environment. Their roles include providing specialized instruction in areas such as special education, instrumental music, and physical education, as well as coaching athletic teams like the boy's hockey team. Substitute teachers and homebound teachers ensure continuous education for students in various circumstances, upholding the district's commitment to comprehensive and inclusive education.
