Giancarlo Currarino is in charge of O-I’s business in Italy and Hungary. In this capacity, he plans and directs O-I’s strategy and activities in these countries to deliver strong business results. His responsibility includes 11 plants across Italy and Hungary which predominantly serve the wine, food, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages segments.
Since joining O-I in 2000, Currarino has held a series of senior leadership roles at O-I including most recently global Chief Technical Operations Officer. In this role, Currarino drove an uncompromised safety culture, innovation, and technology such as O-I’s revolutionary MAGMA system, a strong focus on Quality, and continuous improvement in operational excellence such as transformational change through efficiency improvement and cost optimization.
He has managed multiple local, regional and global manufacturing & engineering teams, and led the expansion of O-I’s joint venture with Constellation Brands, Industria Vidriera de Coahuila (IVC) in Nava, Mexico, and a $2.15 billion acquisition to O-I, which included five plants in Mexico.
