Alexey Zhigaltsov has been working in the IT industry since 2005. In 2005, they started their career as a Network Engineer at Internet Business Bureau, where they were responsible for planning and implementing network topology on different levels, service software development and support, and new customer services deployment. By 2008, the company had established a solid fault-tolerant infrastructure with detailed monitoring and events aggregation services. In 2008, Alexey joined Business Software Solutions (BSSL) as a Senior Software Developer, where they initiated a new version of the platform development using a more robust technology stack. In 2011, they moved to Ogorod as a Senior Software Developer, where they were responsible for technical architecture planning and optimization for a high-load project. Alexey also migrated the software to a scalable hosting. In 2012, Alexey joined Witkit Inc. as a TeamLead, and the same year they joined Pluso as a CTO. At Pluso, they were part of a team of talented people creating a perfect product from scratch. Alexey was also responsible for recruiting new team members for key technical positions. In 2018, Alexey joined owl.co as Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Technology Officer. As Chief Information Security Officer, they were responsible for obtaining and maintaining SOC2 Type II compliance, working closely with the engineering team to make sure S-SDLC is followed, planning and reviewing cloud infrastructure security, and implementing and enforcing data handling policies within the company. As Chief Technology Officer, they were one of the first team members and was responsible for bootstrapping the whole development, including creating the MVP, planning resources required for certain features, and participating in meetings with customers to better understand deliverables. Alexey was also involved in the developers hiring process and created a whole DevOps process single-handedly using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Alexey Zhigaltsov attended Moscow State University of Economics Statistics and Informatics from 2003 to 2008. Alexey also holds a CCNP certification from Cisco.
