Derek Christovich, CFA

Derek Christovich, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Derek is currently the Director of Strategic Planning at Owl Cyber Defense, where they utilize their strategic planning skills to drive company growth. Prior to this, they worked as a Diligence Manager at Splash 4 Partners, managing research and data analysis projects for private equity and lending clients.

Derek also has a strong background in finance, having held multiple roles at Parsons Corporation. As a Finance Manager, they streamlined financial close processes and led financial forecasting and planning for the company. Derek also served as a Senior Financial Analyst at QRC Technologies, a Parsons Company, where they led the strategic planning cycle and product pricing.

In addition to their finance roles, Derek has experience in manufacturing operations finance at GE Aviation, where they supported the launch of aircraft programs and developed operational spend requirements. Derek also participated in GE's Financial Management Program (FMP), completing rotations in supply chain finance, engine services FP&A, avionics FP&A, and spares finance.

Earlier in their career, Derek served as the President of the Virginia Tech Society of Individual Investors and worked as a Resident Advisor at Virginia Tech. Derek also gained experience as a Credit Risk Intern at Freddie Mac and a Financial Systems Analyst Co-Op at IBM.

Derek's career started with an externship at Virginia Asset Management, where they learned about financial planning and various financial products. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong financial expertise and strategic planning skills, making him a valuable asset in their current role as Director of Strategic Planning at Owl Cyber Defense.

Derek Christovich, CFA, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from Virginia Tech, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their higher secondary education at Powhatan High School from 2005 to 2009, earning an Advanced Degree. In July 2020, Derek obtained their Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute.
