Alastair joined Owlstone in 2006 to lead the development of the commercialisation of FAIMS for industrial use, leading to the release of Owlstone’s first CE marked product, the Lonestar VOC Analyzer. From 2007 to 2015 he held a number of highly technical and project management positions which delivered FAIMS based products in the Industrial, Defence, Scientific and Medical sectors. During that time he has overseen the Product Realisation Process for all of Owlstone’s commercially available products. Since 2016, as VP Engineering, Alastair has been responsible for all product development activities and project delivery. He also provides team management for the mechanical design department Previous roles include Design Consultant at Syrris Ltd, working on various novel chemistry and micro fluidic lab equipments, and Design Engineer at Biorobotics Ltd developing novel micro arraying techniques for gene expression profiling . Alastair holds a M’Eng from The University of Cambridge.
