Ashley Tsongas

VP, Strategy & Operations at Oxfam America

Ashley Tsongas is the Chief of Strategy & Systems at Oxfam America. She leads organizational strategy, planning, and change initiatives.

Ashley joined Oxfam in 2005 as a Media and Advocacy Officer in Ethiopia. After Hurricane Katrina, she helped social justice advocates in Mississippi and Louisiana ensure a fair share of recovery resources for their communities. Since then, Ashley has become a senior change manager, focusing on organizational development and strategy and recently leading Oxfam America’s 2030 strategy development. Her roles have included Chief of Staff, Deputy to the Vice President of Programs, Special Advisor to the Vice President of Policy & Communications, and Change Manager for a major reorganization of Oxfam’s program structure. She has also served in previous interim roles as Director of Communications, Director of Food Systems, and Director of Learning Evaluation and Accountability.

Ashley spent two years in Madagascar as a Peace Corps volunteer. She holds a BA from Yale University, a Masters from the Fletcher School at Tufts University specializing in development economics and comparative political analysis, and an MBA from the Sloan School at MIT.
