Francesc Cortada Hindersin has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations. Francesc currently serves as the CEO/General Director of Oxfam Intermón, where they are responsible for strategic planning, decision-making, and managing the overall operations of the company. Francesc is also a Board Trustee at World Animal Protection since 2018.

Before joining Oxfam Intermón, Francesc was the Global Program Director at Oxfam International from 2012 to 2020. In this role, they led and managed Oxfam's programming and field teams across multiple regions and countries, including humanitarian response and long-term development.

Prior to that, Francesc held several leadership positions at Intermon Oxfam. Francesc served as the International Director from 2008 to 2012, where they were a part of the Senior Leadership Team and the Humanitarian Response governing body. Francesc also served as the Institutional Funding Director from 2005 to 2008, where they successfully tripled institutional fundraising results through restructuring and developing increased risk portfolios. Additionally, they served as the Head of Area, Relations with the European Union from 2004 to 2005, where they established and managed a new unit and led fundraising and influencing strategies.

Francesc's work experience also includes being a University Professor at UPC, teaching courses in Engineering in Emergencies, from 2001 to 2012. Francesc was also a University Professor at the Open University of Catalonia from 2007 to 2010.

Furthermore, Francesc worked at Acción contra el Hambre as the Chief Manager of Water and Sanitation Emergency Response in El Salvador in 2001. In this role, they had overall technical and financial responsibility for managing the program.

Francesc Cortada Hindersin has a diverse education history. In 1997, they obtained a degree in Civil Chartered Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Francesc furthered their studies in 1989 at the Escola de Camins, specializing in Hydraulics and Energy. Francesc also holds a Diploma in Long Term Development Aid from the Universitat de Barcelona, which they earned in 1999. In 2002, they completed a Master's degree in Social Exclusion and Cultural Diversity: Social Intervention from the Universitat de Girona. Francesc continued their education in leadership and civic engagement, acquiring a Master's degree from Esade in 2009. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained The Leadership Circle Profile Certification from The Leadership Circle, focusing on Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. Francesc then attended the Syracuse University - Maxwell School in 2013, where they completed the Transnational NGO Leadership Programme in Organizational Leadership. Lastly, in 2020, Francesc attended Esade once again to participate in the Business Agility Program, with a specialization in Digital Transformation & Innovation.
