Megha Kumar

Megha Kumar started their work experience in 2001 as a Journalist for Telegraph India and The Statesman, focusing on gender issues, national environmental policy, and culture. Megha reported directly to the Bureau Chiefs of the newspapers. Megha then worked as a Lecturer and Tutor at the University of Oxford from 2007 to 2010. In 2009, they became a Research Fellow at the University of London, where they conducted postdoctoral research on India during the decolonization era. Megha'sresearch received prestigious funding awards and was presented at top academic conferences worldwide. From 2012 to 2017, they worked at Oxford Analytica, initially as an Asia-Pacific Analyst and later as the Deputy Director of Analysis/Senior Analyst for South and Southeast Asia. In this role, they provided timely and pragmatic advice to policymakers and business leaders on the region's political economy, security, and diplomatic challenges. Megha then became the Deputy Director (Cybersecurity and Technology) at Oxford Analytica, a position they currently hold.

Megha Kumar completed a PhD in History, focusing on Contemporary India, from the University of Oxford from 2005 to 2009. Megha also obtained an MSt in South Asian History from the same university in 2004-2005. Before that, from 2003 to 2004, they pursued a Senior Status Bachelor's degree in Modern History at the University of Oxford. Prior to their time at Oxford, they earned a BA in World History from Delhi University from 2000 to 2003. In terms of additional certifications, they have completed a number of programs including Accredited CPD Certificates in GDPR, Whistleblowing, and Bribery & Corruption from The CPD Certification Service in 2018, a Certificate in Cybersecurity: Frontiers of Policy and Strategy from the University of Oxford in 2018, Media and Presentation Training from Mosaic Media and Marketing Training in 2013, a Management Development Programme from Ashridge Executive Education, Hult International Business School in 2013, and a Certificate in Understanding Women's Human Rights from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2008.
