Sarah Thonemann

Sarah is Chief People Officer (CPO) at Oxford Brookes University.

Sarah has worked in various HR roles in the public sector for the last 20 years, most recently as Deputy HR Director at Oxford University. She has a master's degree in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development. She is particularly interested in EDI, reward, and employee engagement.

As CPO since May 2022, Sarah provides strategic leadership for people management and HR operations at Oxford Brookes, through the development and implementation of their People and Culture strategy. The People Directorate covers HR management, equality, diversity and inclusion, staff and educational development, health and safety, and the University nursery.
