Juliane Farrand is the current Head of People at Joby Aviation. Juliane has extensive experience in the finance and technology industries, having served as a managing director, controller, and senior finance manager at various companies. Juliane began their career in 1993 as a senior manager of sales operations at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and has since held positions of increasing responsibility at NetApp, Pinger, Inc., and Venova, LLC, which they co-founded in 2010.

At Venova, Juliane specialized in financial planning and analysis for tech start-ups. Juliane was responsible for market research, competitive analysis, business modeling, and the development of integrated cost structures. Juliane also managed roadmaps, milestone plans, deliverables, and performance for selected engagements. In their role as controller at NetApp from 2012 to 2017, they oversaw worldwide OEM sales and provided marketing, human resource, operations, and sales compensation support.

Juliane holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Juliane Farrand attended Boston College Carroll School of Management, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Finance with a minor in Spanish. Juliane then went on to earn their Master's degree in International Economics from Boston University. Juliane also spent a semester abroad studying Spanish Language and Literature at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
