Ruth Richards has a diverse work experience that spans multiple roles and industries. Ruth began their career as a Postgraduate Student at the University of Leicester in 1989 and continued their studies until 1994. After that, they worked as a Personal Assistant at the Leicester Royal Infirmary from 1994 to 1996. Following this, they joined Beauchamp College in 1997, where they taught science and served as the Head of Geology. Ruth also briefly acted as the Head of Biology. In 2003, they moved to John Cleveland College as the Director of Science until 2008. During this time, they started working as a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University in 2008, where they taught trainees to be teachers and also taught undergraduate courses in education. Additionally, they have been a Principal Examiner in Geology for OCR examination board since 1999, where they write examinations and manages a team of markers during the summer examination series. Ruth Richards brings a wealth of experience and expertise in education and examination development.
Ruth Richards completed their O levels and A levels at Blackfyne Comprehensive from 1977 to 1985. Ruth then pursued their Bachelor's degree in Geology at The University of Hull from 1986 to 1989, achieving an upper second class. Following that, they attended the University of Leicester from 1989 to 1990, where they obtained a Masters degree in Industrial Mineralogy.
