Alexey Zabelkin

Alexey Zabelkin is a genomic applications bioinformatician at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since August 2023 and has served as a lecturer at ITMO University since September 2020, teaching a course on applied statistics in biology and medicine. Previously, Alexey Zabelkin worked as an algorithm developer at MGI from November 2022 to August 2023 and as a researcher at JetBrains from September 2018 to August 2022. Additional experience includes a pre-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria in 2022, a visiting lecturer position at the Bioinformatics Institute, and a brief tenure as a Java developer at Tinkoff in 2018. Alexey Zabelkin is currently pursuing a PhD in mathematics and computer science at ITMO University, following a master’s and bachelor’s degree in the same fields, along with additional education in biomathematics, bioinformatics, and computational biology.
