Libby Snell

Director, RNA And Cdna Sample Technology/sequencing (r&d) at Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Libby Snell has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Libby started their career at North Carolina A&T State University as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2004 and worked there until 2006. Following that, they joined Rockingham Community College as a Visiting Instructor, teaching various subjects and also handling course design, lecturing, laboratory experiments, and tutoring responsibilities from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, Libby moved on to the University of Oxford as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where they focused on investigating eukaryote evolution and molecular phylogenetics. Libby co-supervised a D. Phil student during this time. Libby's most recent work experience is with Oxford Nanopore Technologies. Libby joined as a Scientist in Applications in 2012 and later progressed to the role of Research Manager, Applications in 2016. Currently, Libby holds the position of Principal Scientist, Applications, starting from April 2022.

Libby Snell holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Developmental Evolution from the University of Reading. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from East Carolina University. Libby completed their undergraduate studies at Seattle University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
