Mary (Ortolano) Arico

Mary (Ortolano) Arico has a strong background in biomedical engineering. Mary is currently employed as a Senior Biomedical Engineer at Oxford Performance Materials, Inc. starting in 2023. Prior to this, Mary was the Director of the NASA Connecticut Space Grant program from 2011 to 2023, where they served as the PI of Fellowship/scholarship grants. Mary also worked as an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Hartford from 2009 to 2023. Mary started their career as a Graduate Student at UC Davis in 2004, where their research focused on impact biomechanics and evaluation of traumatic injury in the highway work zone environment.

Mary (Ortolano) Arico obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1999 and completed their PhD in the same field at the University of California, Davis in 2008.
