Christopher Adam

Non-Executive Director at Oxford Policy Management

Christopher Adam brings to our Board 20 years’ experience as an academic economist working principally on the macroeconomics and public finance of low-income economies. He is Professor of Development Economics for the Department of International Development, University of Oxford, and a Fellow of the European Development Network (EUDN).

Christopher began his career as an ODI Fellow at the Ministry of Finance in Swaziland from 1987-89. He is a regular visiting scholar at the research department of the IMF and is the Lead Academic for Tanzania at the International Growth Centre (IGC). In April 2016 he stepped down from ten years of service as Vice Chair of the Board of the African Economic Research Consortium. He has also held several editorial positions, including with the Journal of Development Economics, and the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics.

Christopher studied economics at the Universities of St Andrews and Oxford, and gained a DPhil. in Economics from the University of Oxford.

He is also the Chair of our Audit and Risk Committee.
