Thor Olav Thorsnes Egeland

Thor Olav Thorsnes Egeland is an experienced professional in the renewable energy and investment sectors. Currently serving as Managing Director of Statkraft Ventures and Vice President of Portfolio Nordics at Statkraft since December 2023, Egeland is also a Board Director at Eviny from January 2025. Egeland previously led the Clean Power team at Equinor Ventures from August 2016 to December 2023, overseeing investments in wind, solar, nuclear fission and fusion, and other clean power initiatives. Prior roles include Senior Investment Manager and Investment Manager at Equinor Energy Ventures, Board Member positions at Rovco and eSmart Systems, and Board Observer at Oxford PV and SkySpecs. Egeland's career began at Statoil, where responsibilities included competitor analysis and business development. Egeland holds an MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of Warwick and a BS in Economics from the University of Bergen, with an exchange programme completed at the University of Cape Town.
