Pete Ashworth

Chief Engineer at Oxford Space Systems

Pete Ashworth is the current Chief Engineer at Oxford Space Systems. Prior to this, they were the Stress and Structures Team Leader at Reaction Engines from January 2019 to June 2020. Ashworth was also the Engineering Manager for Mechanical Design and Analysis at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) from March 2013 to December 2018. Before that, they worked as a Satellite Platform Engineer at Avanti Communications Group plc from September 2011 to March 2013. Their first engineering job was at Atkins, where they worked from October 2007 to September 2010 as an Aerospace Engineer.

Pete Ashworth has a degree in astronautics and space engineering from Cranfield University, and a masters in aerospace engineering from the University of Southampton. Pete has worked as an engineer for various aerospace companies, and is now an astronaut with the European Space Agency.

They are on a team with Matthew Dreaper - Co-Founder & CFO, Juan Reveles, PhD CEng - CTO, Co-Founder, R&D and Technical Excellence Groups, and Nicola Martin - Head of HR. Their manager is Sean Sutcliffe, CEO.
