Ian Sherman

Ian Sherman is a seasoned publishing professional with extensive experience in editorial roles, currently serving as Senior Commissioning Editor at Oxford University Press since November 2000. Prior to this position, Ian worked as a Commissioning Editor for Biology at Blackwell Scientific Publishing from October 1992 to November 2000. Ian's career began in the Royal Navy, where a tenure as a Lieutenant (Seaman Officer) lasted from September 1981 to August 1992. Academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Ecology and Marine Biology from the University of St Andrews and a Certificate of General Naval Training and Queen's Commission in Navigation from Britannia Royal Naval College. Early education was completed at King's College School Wimbledon, achieving O and A levels.
