Karen Simpson

Karen Simpson is an experienced publishing professional with a robust career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Managing Director for Africa at Oxford University Press since June 2015, Karen has held various key positions such as Product Director and Publishing Director for Southern Africa. Prior to this role, Karen was with Pearson South Africa from December 2007 to May 2015, progressing through several titles including Learning Resources Director and Head of Content Development. Karen's career began at Bateleur Books as a Senior Publisher from February 2002 to November 2007. Educational credentials include a Digital Disruption program from Cambridge Judge Business School in 2019, a Master of Arts in General Linguistics from Stellenbosch University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Language and Linguistics from the University of Cape Town.
