Nigel Portwood is the current Chief Executive Officer at Oxford University Press. Prior to this, they held various positions at Penguin Publishing Group and Pearson. Nigel started their career at Pearson as the Director of Strategy in 1997 and was later promoted to President & CEO of Europe Middle East and Africa for Pearson Education in 1999. In 2003, they transitioned to Penguin Publishing Group as their Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations and was later promoted to Executive Vice President of Global Operations in 2008. Nigel held this position until 2009 when they left to become the Chief Executive Officer at Oxford University Press.

Nigel Portwood was educated at INSEAD, where they earned their MBA, and the University of Cambridge, where they earned their Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
