Maxine Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Maxine is currently the Global Human Resources Director at Oxitec. Prior to that, they worked as a HR Consulting and Quality Coaching professional at CQC Ltd, where they provided consultancy services to organizations on various aspects of HR and played a strategic role in the executive leadership team. Maxine also served as the Regional People Experience Director and Senior Regional Human Resources Manager at Trimble Inc., where they supported multiple countries and provided HR leadership to over 2000 employees. Maxine also served as a Board Member at STOP and held the position of People & Culture Manager at HydroWorks Ltd. In the past, Maxine has worked as a Human Resources Manager in the finance industry and held management positions at Plunket, Oxford Women's Health, and CDHB. Maxine has also worked as a Programme and Projects Manager in the electricity industry.

Maxine Mitchell's education history begins in 1992 when they obtained a Diploma in Higher Education from the University of the West of England. Maxine then pursued further education and completed a BSc (Hons) Community Nurse Practitioner degree with a focus on Public Health in 1998 from the same university. In 2001, Maxine obtained a Nurse Prescribing degree from the University of the West of England.

Maxine expanded their expertise in quality assurance by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Quality Assurance from the NZ Organisation for Quality in 2007. Maxine also acquired a Certificate in Mentoring from the University of Plymouth in 2003. In 2013, Maxine enrolled in the New Zealand Coaching and Mentoring Centre and earned a Certificate in Professional Coaching and Mentoring.

Maxine furthered their studies by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Human Resources Management from the Australian Institute of Business. Maxine completed this degree between 2015 and 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Maxine obtained several certifications. In 2014, they became an NLP Certified Coach certified by the American Union of NLP. In 2019, they gained certification as a Certified Facilitator of the "6 Critical Practices for Leading" from Franklin Covey Training. In 2020, Maxine became a Belbin Accredited professional through Belbin Team Roles (UK - Head Office). Recently, in 2022, they acquired a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate from HRTrainingClasses.com® and completed the LifeKeepers National Suicide Prevention Training Programme offered by LeVa and the Ministry of Health.
