Michelle Urvall-Ashraf has a long and varied work experience in the fashion and sustainability industry. In 2009, they began their career as a Design Assistant at Lovisa Burfitt, followed by a Design Assistant role at Mark Fast in 2010. In 2011, they moved to A.P.C. as a Retail Store Manager (Buying) and in 2015, they joined Robert Clergerie as a Retail Store Buyer & Merchandiser. In 2010, Michelle founded their own womenswear brand, Ever Rave, and was the Creative Director until 2017. In 2017, they joined Vanessa Seward as a Brand Manager, Retail & Wholesale, and in 2019, they became Co-Founder of Untied_, where they organized textile workshops and held presentations about sustainable fashion. Finally, in 2022, Michelle began their current role as Head of Sustainability and Sustainability Manager at Oxwash, where they are responsible for developing and implementing the Sustainability Roadmap, managing sustainability projects, and providing sustainability training.
Michelle Urvall-Ashraf has a diverse educational background. Michelle obtained their High School Diploma from Sigrid Rudebecks in 2005, after studying Social Sciences and French Language. Michelle then attended Ecole Conte, where they completed Préparatoires integrés in Design textile et mode in 2007. Following this, they received a Bachelor's degree in Textile and Garment Design & Development from the University of Gothenburg in 2010. Finally, they completed a Master's degree in Management - Business strategy and the Environment at Birkbeck, University of London in 2020.
