Michael Gruca

Michael Gruca has a diverse work experience. Michael is currently working at Ozinga as an Accounting Manager since November 2021, where they previously held the position of Senior Accountant since March 2019. Before joining Ozinga, they worked at Duracell as a Senior Accountant from January 2017 to July 2018. Prior to that, they were employed at AkzoNobel as a Senior Accountant from April 2013 to January 2017, where they were responsible for intercompany AP and AR, monthly financial reporting, balance sheet review, and in-house bank activity. Michael also served as the tax lead for one business unit. Michael's other roles include Financial Reporting Staff Accountant at Clover Technologies Group from April 2012 to March 2013 and Staff Accountant at Model Metrics (now Salesforce.com) from June 2011 to April 2012, where they were in charge of accounts payable and receivable and played a significant role in GAAP compliance to facilitate the company's acquisition by Salesforce. Additionally, they worked as a Special Education Aide at Plainfield School District 202 from January 2010 to January 2011. Michael's earlier experience includes the position of Accounting Technician at Applied Systems from February 2008 to June 2009, where they assisted customers with accounting issues, primarily in accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and software code modification. Prior to their civilian career, they served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant - Egress Journeyman from April 2001 to May 2007, specializing in ejection systems and overseeing the training of airmen.

Michael Gruca earned an Associate in Arts degree in Accounting from Joliet Junior College in 2008. Michael then went on to complete their Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Governors State University from 2009 to 2010. Later, from 2012 to 2014, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Accounting and Business/Management from Northern Illinois University.
