Cyril Picard

Cyril Picard is an Applied AI Researcher at P-1 AI, where involvement began in August 2025. Prior to this role, Cyril served as a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from September 2022 to August 2025, leading a design team for the METALS DARPA program, focusing on generative AI methods for rocket engine turbine design. Cyril's experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation for exploring machine learning applications in complex mechanical systems, along with postdoctoral work at ETH Zürich and a doctoral assistant position at EPFL, where research centered on automated design tools utilizing evolutionary computation. Cyril holds both a Doctor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from EPFL. Additionally, Cyril was the President of the committee for association terragir, énergie solidaire from March 2017 to June 2019.
