Paul Lombardo is a seasoned professional in the field of physician assistant education, currently serving as the Principal Advisor on Program Accreditation and Development at the Physician Assistant Education Association since June 2014. In this role, Paul provides expert guidance to educational institutions pursuing provisional accreditation and offers various services such as feasibility study reviews and program development workshops. Prior to this, Paul was the Chair and Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook University from November 1974 until retirement in January 2013, where responsibilities included overseeing faculty, program accreditation, and curriculum development. Paul holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Physician Assistant studies, and Health Services Administration, respectively, from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Stony Brook University, and the New School for Social Research.

PAEA is the national organization representing physician assistant (PA) educational programs in the United States. We serve as a resource for individuals and organizations from various professional sectors interested in the educational aspects of the PA profession. We are the organization primarily responsible for collecting, publishing, and disseminating information on the PA programs. We provide effective representation to affiliated organizations involved in health education, health care policy, and the national certification of PA graduates. We work to ensure quality PA education through the development and distribution of educational services and products specifically geared toward meeting the emerging needs of PA programs, the PA profession, and the health care industry.
