Chris Kingsley

Principal Data Scientist at PacBio

Chris Kingsley has extensive work experience in the field of data science and bioinformatics. Chris has held various roles in different companies and institutions throughout their career.

Chris started their career in 1990 at UC Berkeley, where they worked as a Staff Research Associate until 1992. After that, they joined Chiron as a Bioinformatics Specialist from 1996 to 1999.

In 2006, they joined the Translational Genomics Research Institute, first as an Associate Investigator from 2006 to 2010, and then as a Research Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2013.

From 2013 to 2015, they worked at Ariosa Diagnostics as a Senior Data Scientist.

Chris then joined Roche Sequencing Solutions in 2015 and served as a Principal Data Scientist from 2015 to 2016. Chris later became a Principal Data Scientist II from 2016 to 2019 and finally held the role of Sr. Principal Data Scientist from 2019 to 2020.

In 2020, they joined Omniome Inc. as a Principal Data Scientist and worked there until 2021.

Currently, they are working as a Principal Data Scientist at Pacific Biosciences, starting in September 2021.

Chris Kingsley holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of California, San Francisco. Chris has additional certifications in Statistical Reasoning for Public Health, Bioinformatics Algorithms, Reproducible Research, Coding the Matrix, and Advanced Statistics for the Life Sciences.
