Juniper Lake is a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Pacific Biosciences since July 2021, where expertise is applied in developing tools and workflows for human rare disease research using HiFi sequencing. Key accomplishments include the development of a tertiary analysis toolset for variant annotation, driving the creation of a human variation database from whole genome sequencing, and collaborating with the NIST Genome in a Bottle consortium to enhance variant calling benchmarks. Prior experience includes bioinformatics research and assistant roles at the University of Delaware, focusing on GWAS, RNAseq, and metabolomics related to muscle disorders in broiler chickens, as well as participation in plant science research. Juniper holds a PhD in Bioinformatics Data Science and a Master's in Plant Science from the University of Delaware, alongside dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and International/Global Studies from The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania.
