Michael Eberle

VP Of Computational Biology at PacBio

Michael Eberle has extensive work experience in the field of computational biology, genomics research, and bioinformatics. Michael is currently serving as the VP of Computational Biology at PacBio, which started in 2022. Prior to this, they held various positions at Illumina, including VP and Distinguished Scientist, Senior Principal Scientist, Principal Scientist, and Associate Director of Bioinformatics. Their tenure at Illumina spanned from 2006 to 2022. Before joining Illumina, Michael worked as a Research Scientist at the University of Washington from 2005 to 2006 and as a Scientific Programmer at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center from 1998 to 2005. Michael also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Université de Nantes from 1997 to 1998.

Michael Eberle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Washington, where they studied from 1987 to 1992. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Geophysics from Brown University, completing their doctoral program from 1992 to 1997.
