Yuri Lapin

Yuri Lapin is an accomplished scientist with over 25 years of experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as a Senior Director at Pacific Biosciences since 2010, Yuri leads optimization and manufacturing for chemistry entities utilized in RS II and Sequel sequencing platforms. Prior to this role, Yuri held the position of Senior Research Scientist II at AMRI from 2001 to 2009, where responsibility included the development of new synthetic routes for drug candidates and managing processes from bench scale to large-scale API manufacturing. Earlier experience includes a role as Research Scientist II at Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, where significant contributions were made to the development of the FDA-approved injectable anesthetic Telazol and in synthesizing Lodenosine, an investigative drug with antiviral properties. Yuri earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University between 1985 and 1988.
