Alan Shaffer

Alan Shaffer currently serves as a Board Member for Falcon's Landing, GlobalFoundries Government Security Committee, Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, and Pacific Defense while holding the position of Director of Washington Operations at MIT Lincoln Lab and acting as a Strategic Advisor for Red Cell Partners. Prior experience includes key roles within the United States Department of Defense, such as Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs and Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. Alan Shaffer has also contributed to NATO as Director of the S&T Collaboration Support Office and served as Assistant Secretary of Defense (Research and Engineering) Acting. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in National Resource Management from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a Master of Science in Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School, alongside undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont.
