Chris Mikus

Principal Systems Engineer at Pacific Defense

Chris Mikus has extensive work experience in the field of systems engineering. Chris started their career in 1996 as a Test Engineer at Harris Corporation, where they authored technical support manuals and designed test fixtures. Chris then worked as a Network Support Specialist at Niagara Mohawk Power Corp in 1997. From 1998 to 1999, Chris served as a Technical Support Specialist at Bay Networks Inc., providing product support for routing products.

In 1999, they joined Nortel Networks as a Network Support Engineer and served as a member of a 24/7 on-call team, providing Tier 3 escalation support for hardware and software products. Chris also took on the role of primary engineer for LAN and WAN support.

In 2001, Chris moved to BAE Systems, Inc. as a Systems Engineer and later became a Senior Electrical Engineer. Chris supported field trials and end-user evaluations of a multi-mission sensor and contributed to the research and development of a networked reconfigurable multi-mission sensor.

In 2007, they joined Powerwave Technologies as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they derived requirements for the next generation of GSM and WCDMA digital repeater products. Chris also performed sustainment support and assisted a team of remote software engineers in developing new RF capabilities.

From 2009 to 2022, Chris worked as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer at BAE Systems, Inc., where they played a key role in systems engineering and made valuable contributions to various projects.

In 2022, they joined Spear Research as a Principal Systems Engineer, focusing on the development of proof-of-concept capabilities.

Currently, Chris is working at Pacific Defense as a Principal Systems Engineer, continuing to apply their expertise in systems engineering and contributing to the development of proof-of-concept capabilities.

Chris Mikus attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1995 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Telecommunications Engineering. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1994, Chris Mikus studied at Mohawk Valley Community College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, although the field of study is not specified. In terms of additional certifications, Chris Mikus obtained a Continuing Education Certificate in Architecture and Systems Engineering Program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June 2020. They also obtained a CompTIA Network+ certification from CompTIA in November 2013.
