Sally Liu is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience in hydrology and engineering. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Water Foundation and Sustainable Conservation, as well as the California Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, Sally has held leadership positions including Co-Chair of the Leadership Council at The Nature Conservancy. Additionally, Sally has been the Chair of the Pacific Institute since June 2017. With a background as a Senior Environmental Engineer at Tetra Tech from 1989 to 2007, Sally's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Civil Engineering from Princeton University and a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.

The Pacific Institute envisions a world in which society, the economy, and the environment have the water they need to thrive now and in the future. In pursuit of this vision, the Institute creates and advances solutions to the world’s most pressing water challenges, such as unsustainable water management and use; climate change; environmental degradation; food, fiber, and energy production for a growing population; and basic lack of access to fresh water and sanitation.
