Louise Pentland

Ms. Pentland is a director of Pacific Mutual Holding Company and serves on the Governance and Nominating and Compensation and Personnel Committees.

Louise Pentland joined PayPal, Inc. in 2015 and serves as executive vice president and chief business affairs and legal officer. She is responsible for PayPal’s global people, legal, communications, intellectual property, government relations and social innovation functions where she drives focus on financial, regulatory and legal requirements across all global markets and engages stakeholders to promote the company's reputation globally through corporate affairs initiatives. Through her responsibilities for PayPal’s HR function, Ms. Pentland leads and drives leadership excellence, culture, training, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, benefits, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives. She has served on the board of directors of Hitachi Ltd since 2015.

Before joining PayPal, Ms. Pentland served as executive vice president and chief legal officer at Nokia Corporation where she managed a team of 400+ lawyers, IP experts, and government relations professionals in more than 30 countries for over six years.

Ms. Pentland is strongly committed to community support, serving as a board member with the nonprofit organization Law Foundation of Silicon Valley and dedicates significant time to pro bono initiatives.
