Cindy Bruckner-Lea

Cindy Bruckner-Lea is an accomplished professional with extensive experience at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since October 1992, currently serving as the Acting Chief Science and Technology Officer for the Physical and Computational Sciences Directorate. In this role, Cindy leads the scientific vision and strategy development while overseeing internal investments aligned with strategic science objectives. Previously, as a Senior Technical Advisor in both the Biological Sciences Division and at the Department of Energy, Cindy provided vital expertise for laboratory strategy and program development. Other roles include Program Manager for national security biology initiatives, Technical Group Manager for a large team focused on chemical and biological signature science, and Senior Research Scientist leading significant biodetection research projects. Cindy holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
