Kevin Barker, Ph.D., is a seasoned expert in high-performance computing with extensive experience in research and team leadership at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) since March 2010, where responsibilities include guiding innovative scientific investigations and shaping the strategic direction of scientific computing. As Group Lead and Senior Scientist of the HPC Group, Kevin oversees project portfolios focused on advanced computing systems and software. Previously, Kevin held roles as Team Lead for the HPC Modeling and Simulation Team, developing performance prediction tools, and as a Senior HPC Research Scientist, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Prior experience includes serving as an HPC Research Scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, concentrating on application performance prediction for large-scale systems. Kevin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from William & Mary, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame, and a BS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
