Kevin Simmons

Kevin Simmons is a highly experienced materials scientist currently serving as the Chief Materials Scientist and Team Lead for Material Processes at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since June 2016. Leading a diverse research team, Kevin focuses on advanced materials processing, manufacturing processes, and new material developments. Previously, Kevin held the position of VP of Engineering at Carbitex, LLC, where leadership was provided for the development of innovative carbon fiber composites. Kevin's extensive background includes serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, overseeing research and development in plastics and composites. Kevin holds a PhD in Material Science and Engineering and a Master's in Engineering Management from Washington State University, along with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Central Washington University.
