Pacific School of Religion
Akiko Miyake-Stoner is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and is a member of the California-Nevada Conference. She was appointed to the United Japanese Christian Church (UJCC) in Clovis, CA in 2010 as the Associate Pastor and has served as its Senior Pastor since 2015. UJCC is a federated United Methodist-United Church of Christ congregation; it is historically Japanese-American and is becoming increasingly multi-cultural. She was born in CA and spent her formative years in CO. She attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA, and graduated with a BA in Religion. After college, she spent two years in Seattle with the Lutheran Volunteer Corps working at an adult day health center for seniors with dementia and developmental disabilities; this is where she heard her call to ministry. She studied at Pacific School of Religion from 2007-10, graduating with a Masters of Divinity in 2010.
