Vlad Rakocevic

Vlad Rakocevic has a strong background in software engineering and management. Vlad is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Custom Health, where they lead a team of 15+ engineers in the development of web apps and cloud native back-end services. Prior to this, Vlad worked as a Software Engineering Manager at Edwards Vacuum, where they managed software development and wrote engineering requirements and design specifications for various projects. Vlad also served as a Senior Engineering Manager at Radisys Corporation, where they were responsible for handling customer issues and ensuring adherence to service level agreements. Before that, they were a Hardware and Software Development Engineering Manager at APCON, where they supervised and managed a team of 25+ people. Vlad also has extensive experience at Radisys Corporation, where they held the positions of Director of Development Engineering and Senior SW Development Engineering Manager. Vlad played a crucial role in leading pre-sale, design-win, and design-in activities and successfully delivered software solutions for various projects. Additionally, Vlad has experience as a System Architect at Intel, where they defined ATCA Object Model and developed test applications. Vlad began their career at Oresis Communications as a Staff SW Development Engineer and later worked as a Senior SW Development Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. In both roles, they made significant contributions to the architecture and implementation of ATM Signaling functionality.

Vlad Rakocevic pursued their higher education starting in 1993 at The University of British Columbia, where they obtained a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Applied Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Belgrade to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control Systems. Additionally, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BScEE) with a specialization in Power Electronics, also at the University of Belgrade.

Outside of their formal education, Vlad Rakocevic has obtained certifications in various areas. Vlad completed a certification in "Delegating Tasks" from LinkedIn in May 2022 and a certification in "Being Positive at Work" from LinkedIn in January 2020.
