SEO And AI Content Editor

Engineering · Full-time · Boise, United States

Job description

Page One Power is a fully remote SEO agency that offers link building, digital PR, onsite content creation, and technical SEO services. The SEO and AI Content Editor is responsible for maintaining the editorial quality of all of our content-based products, including our link building, onsite content, and digital PR products. You will collaborate and work with both our full-time internal writing team and our freelance writing teams.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is already an excellent copy editor with experience creating or editing SEO content for web audiences.

Job Description:

In this role, you’ll serve as a copy editor for our link building, onsite content, and content-based digital PR products. You will primarily edit AI-generated content that has been created and humanized by our writing teams, though you will also edit some human-written content too.

At times, this role expands beyond traditional copy edits. You will be trained to provide a comprehensive review of all link building articles to ensure they adhere to both editorial and SEO best practices. You will be taught and expected to complete revisions on link building articles when edits are requested by site editors and webmasters.

You will also learn how to edit all onsite content products, including articles and outlines, and revise those completed products when edits are requested by our clients. Over time, you will take on responsibility for the final review of multi-page onsite products, finalizing the copy to be sent to our clients.

Similarly, you will learn how to edit and revise our digital PR content. This will include making copy edits, thorough fact-checking, and ensuring the content adheres to proper product formatting. You will also be expected to execute any revisions our clients request to the content.

You will be asked to provide written feedback to the contract writing teams and our internal writing teams as you edit their work. You will communicate through Google Docs via comments, email, and possibly via meetings with internal writers. You will be expected to be detailed and specific in your editorial requests.

Responsibilities:

In link building products, you will review and edit articles to ensure they follow the strategic direction that has been outlined for the piece. You will review all of the links, headers, and strategic components within the article to ensure they follow best practices both for the SEO industry and for P1P. When one of the site editors we work with for article placement requests a revision, you will be responsible for reviewing the request and making the necessary changes in a timely and efficient manner.

For our onsite content, you will review and edit products to ensure they follow the strategic direction communicated to and approved by the client. You will focus on completing copy edits and ensuring the proper formatting is used for each product type. When one of the clients we create content for requests a revision to a piece, you will also be responsible for enacting the requested edits. You will also review and edit digital PR content and perform client-requested revisions on these assets as needed.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Complete quality review on all link building, onsite content, and digital PR content products
  • Execute article revisions and rewrites as needed
  • Conduct final review of multi-page onsite products
  • Provide written feedback as needed to freelance writers to ensure they’re meeting our quality standards in all article submissions
  • Provide detailed editorial feedback to internal writers
  • Work with the rest of the CQA team to keep editorial guidelines and best practices up-to-date and aligned across the entire team
  • Maintain detailed documentation of each task in our internal tracking spreadsheets

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    • A college degree or experience in a writing or editing role
      • Experience in our onsite team or content outreach team
      • Experience link building, or editing and/or writing for the web; experience writing and/or editing digital PR content is a plus
      • The ability to write well and efficiently
      • Extensive knowledge of the English language and rules; knowledge of AP style guidelines is a plus
      • Excellent copy edit skills
      • The ability to communicate politely and clearly through both written and verbal formats
