Role:
Page One Power is a fully remote SEO agency that offers link building, digital PR, onsite content creation, and technical SEO services. The SEO Blog Editor is responsible for maintaining the editorial quality of our link building products.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has guest posting experience and who is already an excellent copy editor with experience creating or editing blog posts. This is an ongoing opportunity that will provide consistent work day over day, week over week. We are interested in contractors who would like to pick up a steady flow of work daily and weekly.
As an SEO Blog Editor, you will edit AI-generated blog posts. This involves fact-checking and ensuring that each article is free of any errors related to spelling, grammar, and formatting. It also involves ensuring that each article adheres to either project-specific editorial guidelines or P1P’s house style. You will also, at times, need to make edits to humanize articles.
Additionally, you will provide a comprehensive review of all link building articles to ensure they follow the strategic direction that has been outlined for the piece. You will review all of the links, headers, and strategic components within the article to ensure they follow SEO best practices, both for P1P and the industry as a whole.
Occasionally, we receive feedback on articles and revision requests from the site editors we work with for article publication. There may also be opportunities to enact these revision requests for additional compensation.
In this role, you will collaborate with our freelance writing team, which is responsible for creating blog posts. You will provide feedback to and request revisions from the contract writing team, primarily via Google Doc comments. You will be expected to be detailed and specific in your editorial requests.
Expectations:
Must be a fluent English speaker/writer
Meet and take responsibility for clearly stated deadlines
Pay attention to detail and follow instructions closely
Proactively communicate with questions or concerns, such as not being able to meet deadlines or issues with the work
Possess excellent editorial skills and ensure articles are free of any spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors
Thoroughly fact-check all claims in articles to ensure accuracy
Flourish in an environment that is dependent upon respectful written communication
Work well independently, as well as collaboratively with writers when providing written feedback
Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Compensation/Employment Type:
Individuals are hired on a remote contractor status. Invoices are submitted and paid on a weekly basis. Compensation will be based on the intended word count and clearly listed in each task.
The articles are created by a freelance team that performs an initial editorial review of their work. Typically the edits needed will be fairly minimal and quick.
General Pricing: $20 per article
*Special request-based editorial revisions and pieces requiring more in-depth humanization will be priced per piece at an increased rate.
Please submit samples of work that you have reviewed and edited with your full editorial markup and any relevant writer feedback. Applicants who do not provide marked-up editorial samples will not be considered for this position.
