Maksym Zavershynskyi

Maksym Zavershynskyi has had a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Maksym started their career in 2007 as a Software Engineer at the Institute of Telecommunications, where they worked until 2010. In the same year, they joined GlobalLogic as a Software Engineer for a short period of time. Maksym then moved on to work as a Researcher at USI Università della Svizzera italiana from 2010 to 2014.

In 2015, Maksym joined Google as a Software Engineer, initially working in Geo&Location, where they focused on context extraction from location data and inferring user visits to places. Maksym later transitioned to the role of Software Engineer in Advertisement, responsible for computing and analyzing key monetization metrics and detecting dangerous trends.

Most recently, Maksym has been with Near Inc since 2018. Maksym started as a Founding Engineer and eventually moved up the ranks, serving as an Engineering Manager from 2019 to 2021, Head of Engineering from 2021 to 2022, and currently holds the position of Vice President Of Engineering.

Maksym Zavershynskyi completed their Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv from 2005 to 2009. Maksym then pursued a Master's Degree in Social Computer Science from the same university from 2009 to 2011. Maksym furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from USI Università della Svizzera italiana between 2010 and 2014. Additionally, Maksym also obtained a certification in Public Speaking, specifically the Competent Communicator title, from Toastmasters International in February 2017.
