Currently serving as a Distinguished Fellow at Pahle India Foundation and a Senior Fellow at NITI Aayog, Ashish specializes in the measurement of the digital economy. Previous roles include Director at the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific and Director General at the Central Statistics Office, Government of India, where coordination and supervision of national economic statistics were key responsibilities. Ashish has also held positions at UNICEF and FAO as an international consultant and advisor, contributing to global strategies for agricultural and rural statistics.
